The World’s Safest Airlines, According to Have you ever wondered how safe is the airline you’re about to step onto? It happens all the time. Our Flightag crew just returned from Europe a few days ago, and yes we wondered the same thing every time we take to the skies. Of course, airlines do a great job at keeping their fleets safe. See below if your favorite airline made the list. It is important to note that 2019 is one of the safest years in aviation history.

20. KLM, an airline safety and product rating website has created their list of the Top Twenty Safest Airlines 2020 (The World’s Safest Airlines). Their report is based on metrics including industry and government audits, crash and serious incident records, fleet age, safety initiatives and profitability. Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas cautions that it considers serious incidents for its calculations.

“All airlines have incidents every day, and many are aircraft or engine manufacture issues, not airline operational problems,” he says in an article on announcing the airlines. “And it is the way the flight crew handles incidents that determines a good airline from an unsafe one. So just lumping all incidents together is very misleading. Our top 20 safest airlines 2020 are always at the forefront of safety innovation, operational excellence and the launching of new more advanced aircraft like the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787.”
