Boeing successfully completes second 777X first flight. The test flight was conducted by Captain Ted Grady, 777X project pilot and Captain Van Chaney, 777/777X chief pilot. The flight lasted for 2 hours and 58 minutes before the aircraft landed at Boeing Field.
The 777X underwent comprehensive tests, including nearly 100 hours at a variety of flap settings, speeds and altitudes. Boeing is now planning on adding personnel on-board to monitor testing instead of relying solely on a ground-based telemetry monitoring since initial airworthiness have been demonstrated.
