American Airlines plans major changes for summer. AA has increased domestic routes for the summer travel season, reopening Admirals Clubs, expanding flexible policies and continuing its enhanced cleaning, health and well-being procedures.
Bring on Summer
American is planning to fly 55% of its domestic schedule and around 20% of its international schedule in July 2020. The domestic increases are due to more customer demands. The airline saw an increase in May travel with a daily average of 110,000 passengers per day which is a 71% more than April.
“We’re seeing a slow but steady rise in domestic demand. After a careful review of data, we’ve built a July schedule to match,” said Vasu Raja, American’s Senior Vice President of Network Strategy. “Our July schedule includes the smallest year-over-year capacity reduction since March. We’ll continue to look for prudent opportunities to restore service so our customers can travel whenever and wherever they are ready.”
